After many requests to build a smallpipe that is effortless to tune and keep in tune, I have designed a set of smallpipes I call Scottish Apartment Pipes.

     These Smallpipes, often called kitchen pipes are made to play with practice chanter reeds in the drones as well as the chanter.  These pipes take the effort out of tuning and messing with single bladed drone reeds. Once they are set in tune they tend to stay that way.  Kitchen pipes can be bought at many Highland Bagpipe establishments but they only come in one standard set up, all plastic, fabric synthetic bag, with thin drones.

   My goal is to offer sets with a traditional leather bag, wooden or plastic construction, and drones that have some meat to them. 

   The first sets will be available in the coming weeks.  They will use the same bag or a variation of the bag used on my Swedish bagpipes.

   The first sets will be in Bb with drones that tune to Bb or A 440hz.

   Soon after A-440 chanters will also be available.
